Fido Fave 2-in-1 Undercoat Rake + 360 Rotating Detangling Comb, Deshedding & Dematting Dog Grooming Comb

Editor's note

An undercoat rake is the tool most double-coated dogs need most often, and this is the guide's pick for the job. Long pins slide under the topcoat and catch loose undercoat so it can leave, which is the whole point of summer grooming. The listing pairs a rake with a rotating comb whose teeth turn with the coat to reduce pulling.

Work with the direction of hair growth using short, light strokes. If it bounces or catches, you are pressing too hard. Once a week for 10 to 15 minutes is the guide's routine.

It is not a reason to shave. Shaving removes the insulating undercoat and can leave the coat growing back patchy.
