TropiClean Lime & Coconut Deshedding Dog Shampoo, 1-gal bottle

Editor's note

The guide's routine for a double coat has a bath in it every four to six weeks. The reason for a deshedding shampoo specifically is that the surfactants lift dead undercoat a dry brush cannot reach. Use it before a rake pass, not instead of one. That is the only job it has here.

This is the gallon. The listing describes lime and coconut scent with coconut and vitamin E, for dogs and cats. A gallon suits a household that bathes a large double-coated dog on that schedule and will get through it. For a small dog it will sit on a shelf for years.

It does not replace the rake or the slicker, and no shampoo thins a coat. The undercoat has to be combed out after the bath, or it stays where it was.
