DentaLife Daily Oral Care Chicken Flavor Large Adult Dental Dog Treats, 7 count pouch

Editor's note

The guide includes this chew as an adjunct to brushing, not a plan on its own. The listing claims an average 57% tartar reduction and describes eight ridges. It is sold for large adult dogs weighing 40+ lb.

Know the limits before buying. A chew cleans the surfaces it touches, mostly the big cheek teeth, and does nothing below the gumline. The guide suggests checking any chew for the Veterinary Oral Health Council seal, which means the claim was tested rather than asserted. The listing does not mention one.

It is also food. Take the calories out of the daily ration, or a daily chew on top of meals puts weight on slowly.
