Highwave AutoDogMug Portable Dog Water Bottle & Bowl, Blue, 20-oz bottle

Editor's note

A squeeze bottle for one-handed use. Pressure pushes water into the bowl on top, the dog drinks, and releasing the pressure drains what is left back into the bottle. The guide's checklist wants one-handed operation so you keep the leash, and a way to save unused water on a long trail, and this does both.

The trade is hygiene. Water that has been in the bowl goes back into the reservoir, and the guide is plain that this can carry saliva and bacteria into the supply. Clean the seals, since film in the silicone is what makes a dog refuse the bottle.

At 20 ounces it suits a small or medium dog on a walk under an hour. A big dog in heat wants more than this, and a dog over 60 pounds wants a wider trough than a bottle top gives.
