Wild One Wild Wand Cat Plush Toy, Multicolor

Editor's note

A second wand in a different texture, kept back and rotated in. That beats a more expensive single wand, because habituation is quick and cats have individual preferences for feathers, fur-like textures and things that skitter. This one has a plush lure where the guide's first wand has feathers, which is exactly the contrast the rotation needs.

It still only works as well as the hand holding it. Short erratic darts, pauses, a vanish behind a chair leg, and a capture the cat is allowed to win. Dragged across the floor in a straight line, any wand is ignored.

Two or three sessions of five to ten minutes a day suit a cat better than one long one. Put it away between them, both for novelty and because loose string left out is an ingestion risk.
