Blue Buffalo Wilderness Adult 7+ Chicken Recipe High-Protein Grain-Free Pate Wet Cat Food, 3-oz can, case of 4

Editor's note

For the cat that is holding weight poorly after the vet has ruled out disease. The guide's direction in that case is more protein, not fewer calories, and this is its higher-protein wet pick. The listing puts chicken first and describes a grain-free pate.

The order matters. Unexplained weight loss in an old cat is diagnostic information, and a calorie-dense food bought to fix it can mask a treatable disease for months. Bloodwork first, then feed to the diagnosis, and only then this.

It is not the conservative choice. The guide's conservative picks are the wet formulas from the large manufacturers that run feeding trials. Choose this one on the panel, for the protein, rather than on the 7+ on the front, which is not a standard.
