Ferplast ATLAS Two Door Top Load Plastic Dog & Cat Carrier, Light Blue, 19-in

Editor's note

Top-loading and hard-sided is the guide's default for a vet visit, and this is the one it names for most cats. A frightened cat braces against the walls and will not come out of a front door. A top that opens lets the vet examine the cat with the bottom half still around it, and lift it straight up rather than drag it out. The listing gives doors on the top and the front, a shell that clips together without bolts, and ventilation all round.

Size it so the cat can stand and turn. This is the 19 inch.

In the car, route the seat belt through the handle every trip, including the ten-minute one. An unsecured carrier in a hard stop is a projectile. And do not tip it to get the cat out.

About this product

Sometimes, shoehorning your furry little one into any type of pet carrier is hard enough — but at least the ATLAS Two Door Top Load Plastic Kennel & Pet Carrier doesn’t make things any harder! For instance, while other plastic carriers entail a long and exhausting nut-and-bolt assembly, putting this one together is a snap — literally — thanks to the plastic clips that secure the top piece to the bottom. Also, doors on both the top and the front give you multiple options for getting your wiggly fur-child in and out. Once inside, he’ll travel in comfort thanks to the multiple ventilation holes. And the sturdy plastic shell will protect him from the perils of this world, yet is also easy to clean. When you’re not transporting him inside this lightweight pet kennel, its handle folds down.
