Hill's Science Diet Senior Adult 7+ Savory Chicken Entree Wet Cat Food, 2.9-oz can, case of 4

Editor's note

The other conservative wet option in the guide, chosen for being widely available and consistent from can to can. For an old cat that is the point. Wet food carries moisture, sits easier on a sore mouth and smells stronger to a cat whose nose has faded. Hill's is one of the large manufacturers with feeding trials and in-house nutritionists, which is the right instinct for an elderly animal.

The 7+ on the label is not a standard. Read the protein and the AAFCO statement on the back and ignore the word on the front.

Do not restrict protein without a diagnosis. That outdated advice accelerates the muscle loss you are trying to prevent. If the cat is losing weight, that is diagnostic information for the vet, not a reason to change the can.
