TRIXIE Wall Mount Corner & Vertical Cat Scratcher, Beige

Editor's note

When a base cannot be made stable, take the base out of the equation. A wall-mounted scratcher cannot wobble, and wobble is the one thing scratching cannot tolerate. It takes no floor space, and you set the surface at exactly the height your cat reaches to, which a floor post cannot promise. This corner mount is the guide's pick for that.

Mount it where the cat is already scratching, not where you would prefer it to. That is the whole technique, not a compromise. The corner of a door frame that is taking the damage is the obvious spot.

This needs screws in a wall. If that is not an option where you live, a wide-based floor post is the alternative.
