allforpaws Chill Out Cooler Dog & Cat Pet Bowl, 6-cup

Editor's note

The senior hydration guide recommends a second water station in whatever room the dog naps in, because distance matters more than bowl size. This bowl is its pick for that station.

The listing describes a 6-cup bowl with a gel core meant to keep water cool for up to eight hours and a slide-resistant base. It says the bowl suits cats as well as dogs.

A cool bowl is not a treatment. For a dog you suspect is overheating, wet the coat with cool tap water and get to a clinic without delay. A senior that refuses water entirely needs a same-day vet visit.
