Frisco Rechargeable Cordless Cat & Dog 3-Speed Nail Grinder, White

Editor's note

Clipper or grinder is not a style choice, and the guide's rule is simple. A grinder for black nails or a nervous dog, clippers for a calm dog with a visible quick. A grinder sands the nail down in thin layers, so it forgives the mistakes a fidgeting dog invites, and it leaves a rounded edge. This is the guide's rechargeable pick, with three speeds and a pair of lights on the head.

Start on the lowest speed. If you have any doubt about the dog's tolerance, that is where the guide says to begin. The downsides are vibration, noise, and heat if you dwell on one nail for more than a second or two.

The tool is the smaller part. The desensitization protocol and the food you pair it with matter more than which grinder you hold.
