Petmate See & Extend Dog & Cat Carrier Bag

Editor's note

The guide's use for this one is narrow and real. For a longer visit, the zip-out extension gives an anxious cat more floor space while you are stuck in a waiting room for half an hour. The mesh panels give the cat the view most prefer to a closed wall. The listing adds top and side entry, a third entry through the extension, an interior tether and loops for a seat belt.

It is soft-sided, and the guide is honest about the limits. Soft sides collapse under a cat that pushes up, and top access is clumsier than on a hard carrier. As the default vet carrier it is the wrong tool. For the day with a long wait, it earns its place.

Belt it in on every trip, and never tip it to get the cat out.
