Casfuy PWS-155 Multi-Layer Filtration Quiet Stainless Steel Dog & Cat Water Fountain, 108-oz

Editor's note

For the household where pump noise was the sticking point. A cat that has been put off by a humming fountain is not going to drink from it. The guide points at the quiet multi-stage stainless designs for exactly that case. This one is stainless with a layered filter, which the listing gives as cotton, activated carbon, ion exchange resin and a sponge.

More filter layers mean more parts to strip and rinse. The guide's rule stands. If you cannot take it fully apart in a couple of minutes, you will stop cleaning it, and a dirty fountain is worse than a clean bowl.

At 108 ounces it is a large tank. Do not buy the capacity because an old animal has suddenly started drinking more. That is a symptom, and bloodwork comes first.
