Outward Hound Nina Ottosson Lick N' Flip Treat Puzzle Enrichment Dog Toy & Slow Feeder, Blue

Editor's note

The step after flat mats, not a replacement for them. When a dog solves every mat you own and you want the difficulty to keep climbing, the guide's answer is a hybrid. It adds a moving element to the licking, rather than being a fourth flat mat. This one has compartments that spin and flip, and the listing rates it a level 1 puzzle, so it is a first step up rather than a hard one.

The trade is honest. The guide's own table calls hybrids two mediocre functions rather than one good one. Buy it for a dog that has outgrown mats, not as a first mat.

It is dishwasher safe, according to the listing. Supervise it like any mat, and keep sweetened spreads and xylitol off it.
